If you had a rifle through my makeup collection and found my blush drawer, you'd notice that I have a penchant for peachy-pinks. Shades like Benefit Coralista, Nars Sex Appeal and Tom Ford's Love Lust are some of my favourites, but they aren't necessarily winter appropriate. On a recent hunt for a more classic, autumnal hue in my local MAC store, I stumbled across this beauty. MAC's Breezy Sheertone Shimmer Blush is a deep plum shade, which is basically the ideal colour to compliment the plethora of berry-toned lipsticks currently weighing down my makeup bag.
If you've read any of my previous, skincare posts, you'll know that I love to include a whole host of serums in my skincare routine. As I'm still relatively young and my skin is on the drier/dehydrated side, hydrating formulas are a must for me and give my skin that extra boost that a moisturiser alone can't achieve. Estee Lauder's Advanced Night Repair Serum may technically be aimed at reducing the signs of aging, to reveal a smoother, radiant, even-toned complexion, but my mid-twenties skin would be more than happy to reap those benefits, too! The question is - does it live up to its sparkling reputation?
Now that my skin has passed its oily phase and is on the drier side, I like to opt for foundations that still give me great coverage, but also boost radiance and have more of a moisturising texture. Clinique's Even Better Foundation gives me the exact finish I want and it's now one of my absolute favourites.
Hair serums and oils are a haircare staple for me. Whether I'm using them on wet hair, before blowdrying or as finishing products when my hair is dry, I cannot be without them. Years of heat styling, colouring and general wear and tear have taken its toll on my barnet, leaving it in need of a daily dose of hydration. My top choice is the cult-favourite MoroccanOil Treatment, which is hailed as the best, hair treatment out there by many beauty buffs, so I thought I'd share my thoughts on it.
Usually, I'd describe my skin as combination/oily, with dehydrated tendencies. However, when this time of years rolls around, with the cold, blustery weather and deadly central heating, it transforms into being much more dry in areas and oil is less of a problem. There is nothing worse than patchy, scaly skin that becomes just so obvious when makeup is put over it. Exfoliation is key. When I just want a quick, gentle exfoliation, then I choose this little wonder, the Ginvera Green Tea Whitening Marvel Gel. I've had this ever since it suddenly burst onto the scene, so I've had plenty of time to give it a good going over.

Models Own Wonderland Nail Polish Collection, Review + Swatches
23:44Alice Grace
The Models Own Wonderland Collection of nail varnishes for winter is just stunning and much more interesting than the usual shades and finishes that brands dish out during this time of year. Rather than focus on reds, purples and darker colours, Models Own have concentrated on colours, textures and effects related to snow, frost and ice. Each polish has some sort of glitter within, be it chunky and in your face or fine and more subtle, which I adore.
Day to day, I don't have to wear a face primer to keep my makeup in place for longer; that's never been too much of an issue for me. But, when I know I'm going to wear my makeup for a long, busy day/night, I do like to wear one, to ensure that my makeup stays looking as good as it possibly can, without much work. Benefit's The Porefessional PRO Primer Balm has had a lot of rave reviews on the internet and has become somewhat of a beauty favourite by many, being one of Benefit's top sellers and, apparently, the number one selling primer in the UK! With that in mind, I just had to give it a whirl and see for myself.
October's favourites were all about protection and perfection - exfoliating and balancing my skin, taking supplements to improve my sleep and strengthening my nails. Makeup wise, I've been loving a shimmering eye paired with a plum lip, in keeping with the Autumn/Winter trends. So, which products was I loving throughout October?
There are four shades in the Rimmel Metal Rush Collection, of which I picked up three, passing on the lilac colour as I already have something very similar from Maxfactor. Metallics, as usual, are a big trend for Autumn/Winter, so these are the perfect way to accessorise subtly, without having to go all out with clothing.
